Student Alumni Association History
Leaders of the Pack.
Founded in 2001, the Student Alumni Association Ambassadors program was created to strengthen the bond between students and alumni.
SAA Ambassadors are a diverse and dynamic group of NC State students representing different backgrounds, interests and majors, but united by a shared passion for the university. As the official student ambassadors to the NC State Alumni Association, the Ambassadors connect students with alumni, celebrate university traditions and serve as proud representatives of the Pack at events throughout the year.
In addition, SAA Ambassadors oversee the Student Alumni Association, one of the largest student organizations on campus, with more than 1,500 members who engage in networking opportunities, campus traditions and alumni connections.
Our Executive Committee
President and Vice President
At the heart of the Student Alumni Association Ambassadors are our president and vice president. This duo leads meetings, manages operations and represents the program on key boards and committees — all while bringing energy and vision to the team.
Ambassador Engagement Committee
The Ambassador Engagement Committee is focused on keeping the team connected, motivated and having fun. They focus on supporting ambassador morale, professional development, planning social events and hosting end-of-year celebrations to recognize the hard work of the team.
This committee also leads the recruitment process to bring in new ambassadors who are passionate about NC State. If you’re looking to get involved, this team is a group to know!
Student Engagement Committee
The Student Engagement Committee is the heartbeat of school spirit and tradition at NC State, dedicated to making every student’s experience unforgettable. This committee is powered by two dynamic subcommittees: the Student Experiences Committee and the Homecoming Committee, both of which work to create a vibrant and connected campus community.
Student Experiences Committee
This group takes pride in fostering school spirit and maintaining traditions that make NC State feel like home. Whether it’s hosting networking events with alumni or celebrating cherished symbols like the NC State ring, this team is committed to ensuring students build lasting memories and a strong connection to the university. With over 1,500 members, they’re all about making students feel valued and engaged.
Homecoming Committee
If you’ve ever joined in on the excitement of Red and White Week, grabbed a bite at Wear Red, Get Fed or cheered during the spirit competitions, you’ve experienced this team’s creativity and hard work. They plan and organize all the beloved traditions that make Homecoming week the highlight of the fall semester.
Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee is the creative force behind the Student Alumni Association Ambassadors, making sure the work gets the attention it deserves! From managing social media to spreading the word across campus, this team keeps students engaged and informed. Working closely with every committee, marketing liaisons gather updates, promote events and ensure the Wolfpack knows what’s happening. One of their most legendary contributions is the classic Beat T-shirt! Whether it’s hyping up Homecoming, showcasing ambassador initiatives or designing bold graphics, this team brings spirit, energy and creativity to everything they do.
Philanthropy Committee
The Philanthropy Committee fuels the future of the Student Alumni Association Ambassadors! Whether it’s securing contributions or organizing initiatives, this team ensures the resources exist to create a lasting impact.
They play a key student role in NC State’s Day of Giving, develop creative outreach strategies and track engagement to strengthen relationships with donors and supporters. Working closely with the Annual Giving team, they ensure efforts align with the mission to make a difference.
This team collaborates with other committees to integrate giving into events, launch exciting and engaging campaigns, and get both students and alumni energized to give back. Their work isn’t just about raising support — it’s about building a culture of generosity and pride that keeps the Wolfpack strong for generations to come.
