Our team collected full-body 3-D kinematics data (from 37 markers) and synchronized videos in the Biomechanics Lab. We made the entire dataset freely available on this site, providing researchers in biomechanics, ergonomics, and occupational health with a valuable resource. Researchers can analyze the data to uncover insights into workplace postures and motions, helping to design safer and more efficient work environments. For detailed information about the dataset, please refer to the reference section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Subjects and Tasks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In this project, 12 subjects participated. The first subject was used for pilot testing with different marker attachment methods. The remaining 11 subjects followed a standardized marker attachment protocol. To simulate real-world workplace scenarios, participants performed 25 unique tasks, including lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The example figure below illustrates some of these tasks, which provide detailed insights into body movement during occupational activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"534\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/webpublishing.oit.ncsu.edu\/biomechanics-ise-ncsu-edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/367\/2026\/01\/biomechanics-moped25-image-01-2026-01.jpg\" alt=\"Subject in an experiment performing 25 tasks that involve moving objects, bending with and lifting objects for the MOPED25 lab.\" class=\"wp-image-129\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For the detailed description of the experiment, please refer to our paper in the reference section.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Data Accessing Instructions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The market data is available as .mat files, with basic loading and visualization functions provided in MATLAB code.
