NC State’s Industrial Engineering Program offers three degree options: Master of Industrial Engineering (MIE), Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MSIE) and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (Ph.D.). The MIE is offered both on-campus and online, but which one is right for you? Each option provides an excellent educational experience with many benefits. Therefore, before choosing a program, you should consider which method best suits your learning style and personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master of Industrial Engineering<\/h3>\n \n\n \n\t \t

The Master of Industrial Engineering (MIE) is a professional degree that prepares you for careers in industry, government or consulting. As a result, you can build practical skills that employers value.
This terminal degree works well if you are self-supported, serving in the military part-time, or participating in a co-op program. Therefore, you can design a path that fits your schedule and goals. You do not need to complete a thesis or final oral exam to earn the MIE degree.<\/p>\n\t \t \n

The Master of Industrial Engineering MIE distance education program is designed for working professionals. In particular, it serves practitioner-oriented individuals with undergraduate degrees in engineering, behavioral, physical or mathematical sciences. As a result, you can advance your education while continuing your career.
You must complete 31 credit hours to earn the degree. In addition, the program does not require a thesis. Therefore, you can focus entirely on coursework.<\/p>\n\t \t \n
