Gal Mendelson began as an assistant professor in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State University in 2025. Before this role, he worked as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences at the Technion \u2013 Israel Institute of Technology from 2023 to 2025. His research focuses on the intersection of applied probability, data science, and operations research. In particular, he studies how to improve resource use and manage complex systems more effectively.<\/p>\n

He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Technion in 2020. Afterward, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2022. Furthermore, he gained industry experience at IBM Research from 2017 to 2018.
