In this role, she serves as the \u201cright-hand\u201d of the ISE department head where her responsibilities center around various tasks related to faculty, alumni, donors, and students.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Welton served as the business services coordinator for the NC State Engineering Foundation. Her responsibilities included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recording all gifts to the College of Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Working with scholarship awards<\/li>\n<li>Donor stewardship<\/li>\n<li>Processing financial transactions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prior to working at NC State, Welton and her husband, Steve, owned Welton Structural Design &#8211; a structural engineering firm in Virginia. After 14 years of running a successful company, they decided to return to Raleigh so that Steve could pursue an opportunity to teach at his alma mater. Like her husband, Welton is a graduate of NC State and she holds a bachelor of arts degree in accounting.
