We appreciate the gifts and contributions from our alumni, college and university as they support your academic studies and research. As a result, these contributions help create meaningful opportunities for students like you.

In addition, if you want to support fellowships, you can contact Monica Morgan at mkmorga4@ncsu.edu or 919.515.8888.

Moreover, the fellowships listed below are typically awarded each year. However, availability and award amounts may change depending on available funding.

To apply, you can complete the online Fellowship and Grant Application.

Fellowships

Fitts Graduate Fellowship

The Fitts Graduate Fellowships were established in 1999. Fitts created these fellowships to support ISE graduate students based on academic merit. In addition, he is an ISE alumnus who earned his BSIE degree in 1961.

Fulbright Fellowship

Goodnight Fellowship

In partnership with Jim and Ann Goodnight and the Goodnight Educational Foundation, NC State University established the Goodnight Doctoral Fellowship. This commitment reflects the Goodnights’ strong philanthropic leadership across the university.

In addition, this fellowship helps address one of NC State’s most important funding needs. As a result, you can benefit from expanded support for doctoral education and research opportunities.

Graduate Merit Award

Provost Fellowship

University Graduate Fellowship

University Graduate Fellowships are one year awards that provide competitive support for outstanding new doctoral students. These fellowships are funded by the Office of the Provost.

However, you cannot apply for these directly. Instead, your graduate program must nominate you. As a result, you should focus on building a strong application within your program.

Fellowships play a vital role in supporting Ph.D. students within the NC State Industrial and Systems Engineering Department. With donor support, they provide financial stability, allowing students to focus on research and innovation without financial burden.

In addition, fellowships help attract and retain top doctoral talent. As a result, students can pursue advanced research that addresses complex challenges across industry and society. Moreover, their support strengthens academic achievement and professional development by expanding opportunities and providing mentorship.

Therefore, your investment directly impacts the success of Ph.D. students and advances the future of industrial and systems engineering.
