The Program Educational Objectives were developed to align with and support the missions of the Department, the College and the University.

Program Educational Objectives


Graduates of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Program build careers marked by technical excellence and professional leadership by:

  1. applying core engineering knowledge to design and manage systems, products and processes. They improve performance while balancing time, cost and quality and other limits. They make sound decisions when goals conflict.;
  2. Leading and working well on teams in the workplace. They consider economic, social and ethical impacts in their decisions. They communicate clearly with coworkers, clients and other stakeholders. They act with integrity and responsibility; and
  3. Adapting to changes in technology and the global economy. They pursue lifelong learning to grow their skills and knowledge.

The Program Educational Objectives align with and support the missions of the Department, College and University. The table below shows how the objectives connect to these missions. It also shows the relationship between the PEOs and these various missions.
