The Minor in Supply Chain Engineering helps you build skills related to the networks and processes that move materials and products. As a result, you learn how organizations manage the flow of goods from suppliers to customers.
Through this minor, you study how materials move into production facilities and transform into finished products. Then, you explore how companies distribute those products to customer markets. Therefore, you gain a clear understanding of modern supply chain systems.
This program uses a multidisciplinary approach to solving supply chain challenges. For example, you will study logistics, operations, network design and systems optimization. In addition, you will examine planning, scheduling and alternatives analysis.
By completing this minor, you prepare for the global marketplace. Consequently, you develop a strong foundation for making informed decisions, improving production planning and reducing time to market.
Minor in Supply Chain Engineering Requirements
- The program administrator oversees admission to the minor and certifies completion of the program.
- To apply, you must have a minimum 3.25 GPA and complete a short application form.
- After admission, complete the minor form and create a Plan of Work. Then, list the required courses by semester.
- During each registration period, you must meet with the program administrator or a designee. This meeting confirms your progress.
- You may not double count any required course in Group A toward both your departmental major and minor.
- You must complete all minor courses at NC State University.
- In addition, you must earn a grade of C minus or higher in each minor course.
- All minor courses must be taken for a letter grade.
- Before graduation, the program administrator will verify that you completed all requirements. Therefore, finish the minor by your final semester.
- Finally, complete certification paperwork before the end of the registration period during your last semester at NC State.
