Bio

Tracy Doaks serves as president and CEO of MCNC, a nonprofit technology organization serving communities across North Carolina. MCNC provides protected internet, networking, cloud services and cybersecurity support throughout the state. Before joining MCNC, Doaks served as North Carolina’s state chief information officer and secretary for the Department of Information Technology. In addition, she held executive leadership roles with Duke Medicine and the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

Doaks earned recognition as a Distinguished Alumnus from NC State ISE in 2016. She also earned a CIO certificate from the UNC Chapel Hill School of Government. Moreover, NC Tech honored her with the 2018 Public CIO Award. In 2022, the Triangle Business Journal recognized Doaks with its Women in Business Award for Nonprofit Leadership.

Today, Doaks serves on several boards supporting technology, education and community advancement. These organizations include the Center for Internet Safety, Rewriting the Code and the Schools, Health and Libraries Broadband Coalition. In addition, she serves on the NC State ISE Advisory Board. Doaks earned her Industrial Engineering degree from NC State in 1995.
